The Initial Xbox Game Pass Titles of 2026 Demonstrate Xbox Isn't Giving Up Yet.
Everywhere you go, fans keep sounding the death bells for the Xbox brand. Microsoft's console just got outsold by a relatively obscure console. Platform-specific outlets are now publishing content about PlayStation for the first time. 2025 was a period of total upheaval for the tech giant's gaming arm. But if we're going solely off the titles headed to the service in 2026, it is apparent that Microsoft still intends to engage players with quality releases on its premier subscription.
The Current Inclusions
The two games you can play right now today, Brews & Bastards and Little Nightmares Enhanced Edition, are not the headliners. The true anticipation is for the upcoming titles to Game Pass soon that's deserving of attention.
Upcoming Headline Games
Come mid-January, the platform will add the underappreciated Star Wars Outlaws, a vast exploration title that breaks up the standard Ubisoft formula with a cosmic robbery tale. Another big get is Resident Evil Village featuring the towering Lady Dimitrescu, which our 2021 review called "the perfect cocktail of frights and fights."
Compelling Indie Titles
However, the more modest titles set to join the catalog deserve recognition. Lost In Random: The Eternal Die, a fantastic but under-the-radar dungeon crawler that's a blast to play, drops on Jan. 7th — and it merits a playthrough whether or not you experienced the first Lost in Random game.
The British post-apocalyptic game from last year may draw you in within just a quarter of an hour.
Atomfall, a game blending infiltration and resource management by the makers of Sniper Elite, is also a game to check out. Game Pass Ultimate subscribers also have Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine – Master Crafted Edition to anticipate.
A Solid, Curated Lineup
In summary, these titles aren't industry-shaking releases to Game Pass, nor are they tentpole Microsoft studios games that are the sole reason for the service alone. Yet, this selection are exceptionally strong. There's a good mixture of older titles you may have skipped and relatively recent releases that failed to receive the spotlight they were due initially — which makes them excellent choices to find a new audience on Game Pass.
Hope you're ready to bid farewell to The Grinch Christmas Adventures, as it happens.
