Franchise leads Jennifer Lawrence and Josh Hutcherson will appear in the upcoming Hunger Games instalment, Sunrise on the Reaping.
Reports indicate that original actors Jennifer Lawrence and Josh Hutcherson are returning to their iconic characters in the next chapter of the Hunger Games film series, titled The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping. Production is currently underway.
A Major Comeback for the Franchise
The actors are slated to play Katniss Everdeen and Peeta Mellark, respectively. Speculation suggests their appearance will probably be featured in a brief glimpse ahead, as the main film series concluded with their characters settled into family life.
This marks the sixth installment in the blockbuster Hunger Games franchise.
The Source Material
Sunrise on the Reaping is based upon a newly published work by author Suzanne Collins. It serves as the second prequel film after 2023's The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes. Once again is Francis Lawrence, who has helmed most of the previous films in the series.
The Storyline and Fresh Faces
The film's events are set in the years leading up to the first Hunger Games, focusing on a young Haymitch Abernathy. Haymitch, who would later become Katniss's mentor, is shown as a tribute in the brutal 50th Hunger Games.
The cast also includes several accomplished actors in important characters:

- Ralph Fiennes is cast as a earlier incarnation of the menacing President Snow.
